AutoNation Customer Testimonial

Learn how AutoNation is enhancing the car-buying experience through optimized IT infrastructure. A Fortune 500 company and America’s largest automotive retailer, AutoNation selected a colocation and disaster recovery provider to partner and grow with in order to enhance service to customers. Flexential offers industry-leading power and cooling capacity that provides flexibility and scalability, in addition to reduced costs by economizing the space needed to accommodate AutoNation's equipment.

AutoNation owns and operates over 350 new vehicle franchises from coast to coast and has sold over 11 million vehicles. Its success is driven by a commitment to delivering a peerless experience through customer-focused sales and service processes.

AutoNation partnered with Flexential to create a disaster recovery environment in a Generation 4 Flexential data center that is purpose-build to accommodate high power density requirements. High-density capabilities allow for greater flexibility and scalability to support AutoNation’s continued growth. It also economizes cabinet space to help reduce costs.

“The facility’s capabilities, coupled with the team’s expertise and flexibility, helped us take an original design of close to 20 cabinets at 5kW per cabinet and optimize that to seven cabinets at almost 20kW per cabinet – delivering the ability to scale our environment very cost-effectively as we continue to grow our business,” said Adam Rasner, senior director of IT operations and infrastructure at AutoNation.

Flexential Generation 4 data centers can accommodate power densities up to 1,500 watts per square foot. These capabilities are achieved through a non-contained design, high-capacity cooling units, 24-foot ceilings, a pressurized raised floor and round-the-clock monitoring.
