Hawaiki Submarine Cable
Dedicated network connectivity between Australia, New Zealand and the U.S.
High-performance, international network connectivity is vital to ensuring the ongoing success of global organizations, including healthcare, research and education professionals reliant on seamless collaboration with colleagues and partners around the world. As we move toward an all-digital world, there is mounting concern that existing transpacific cable networks will reach capacity. To augment current inter- and intra-region network availability, the new Hawaiki submarine cable links Australia and New Zealand with the U.S.
The Flexential Portland - Hillsboro 2 data center in Hillsboro, Ore. is the mainland U.S. landing point for the Hawaiki submarine cable. The cable is the first carrierneutral, fiber-optic connection between mainland U.S., Hawaii, Australia, New Zealand and American Samoa. This new transpacific cable network provides faster data connections and expanded network access to meet the growing demand for low-latency connectivity to, from and between Australian, New Zealand and Pacific Island communities.
