ViaWest Expands Lone Mountain Data Center
NORTH LAS VEGAS – March 20, 2017 – ViaWest announced it has completed construction on the expansion of its Lone Mountain Data Center in North Las Vegas, adding 32,000 square feet of raised floor. The data center, which opened in 2013, now features a total of 66,000 square feet of raised floor space for clients seeking colocation, cloud and managed services to support their IT infrastructure.
“We continue to see strong demand from clients for colocation space as well as cloud and managed services,” said Alex Gerrard, Regional Vice President of Sales at ViaWest. “ViaWest is committed to providing the services that clients need to transform their IT infrastructure, in addition to making investments in anticipation of their future needs. This expansion reflects that commitment.”
The ViaWest Lone Mountain Data Center is designed to deliver an industry-leading Power Usage Effectiveness rating projected at 1.2 and super-high density, fault tolerant, concurrently maintainable power. The data center also features highly reliable and scalable internet connectivity.
“With IP traffic expected to triple by 2020 from 2015 levels, high-speed connectivity is increasingly becoming a reason businesses choose colocation and cloud services, in addition to energy efficiency, redundant power and physical security,” said Dave Leonard, Chief Data Center Officer at ViaWest. “We strive to offer the industry’s best capabilities in each of these areas, complemented by world-class security, compliance and managed services, to best serve our clients.”
The Lone Mountain Data Center is one of three sites that ViaWest operates in Nevada and among its fleet of 30 data centers across the United States and Canada. The company participates in the State of Nevada Data Center Abatement program that enables clients to secure a partial abatement from sales and use and personal property taxes.
