ViaWest Brings Next-Generation Cloud Capabilities to Portland, Oregon

PORTLAND, Ore.—September 27, 2016 —ViaWest, a leading provider of Hybrid IT Solutions, cloud and colocation in North America, today announced the launch of its next-generation cloud node in Hillsboro, Ore.

Hosted from the ViaWest Brookwood Data Center, ViaWest’s newest cloud node provides enhanced features including lower latency, premium connectivity and advanced hardware for businesses in the Northwest. Cloud solutions include private, public and compliant clouds for HIPAA and PCI requirements, as well as disaster recovery (DRaaS) and managed services for AWS and Azure.

ViaWest owns, operates and manages three data centers in Oregon, offering a combined raised floor capacity of 188,000 square feet. The company acquired the Hillsboro I Data Center in 2006. Its Hillsboro II Data Center opened in 2011 and the Brookwood Data Center opened in 2015. ViaWest Oregon data centers are connected to the PGE Sunset Reliability Center substation and have a high diesel fuel priority with PGE’s Dispatchable Standby Generation Program.
